Probus (2026) at Equity Gallery
Probus (2026) co-curated with Joey Vadapalas and Alaiyo Bradshaw was a group exhibition of thirty-nine artists exploring drawing as the probity of creative expression and a key instrument of artistic practice. Through a wide range of technique, style, and medium, artists exhibited the boundless possibilities of drawing and how mark making appears in their practice. We considered how drawing shows the artist’s truthfulness and goodness. In fact, art historians and appraisers use drawings to confirm the validity of an artwork, signifying that the most simple of markings connote authenticity. This exhibition was on view at Equity Gallery in Manhattan from April 22 - May 9, 2026. The exhibition was accompanied by public programming: a curator's walkthrough and an artist lead panel discussion.participating artists
