INTERPLAY (2019) School of Visual Arts MACP Gallery

INTERPLAY (2019) was a solo exhibition featuring the work of New York-based artist Marianna Peragallo exploring the intersection of play and art through a series of emotively interactive installations. Through play, we learn about ourselves and the world around us. It enables us to test boundaries, explore our environments, and be present in them. It asked it’s audience to consider physical and emotional limitations and how they intersect, subverting notions of play as frivolous. Instead, the framework of play was used to think critically about human emotion, communications, and consequences. Humor and play created a communal space for vulnerability and connection.
